How it works

How to split your digital files

  1. Add files or a folder

Choose your bundle files or a whole folder.

  2. Pick the limit

20 MB matches Etsy. Use 19 MB for a safety margin.

  3. Download the ZIPs

Upload them to your listing as Part 1, Part 2 and so on.

Etsy digital file limits

How big can Etsy digital files be?

Each Etsy digital listing can include up to 5 files, and each file can be up to 20 MB. High-resolution clipart, wall art and digital paper bundles often go over that limit.

This tool groups your files into ZIPs that stay under the limit, using a “largest first” packing method so you get as few parts as possible. Files are stored without re-compression, so your images keep their full quality.

  • A single file bigger than the limit can't be split by a ZIP. Reduce it with the image converter (for example PNG to high-quality JPG) or deliver it via a Google Drive link.
  • More than 5 ZIPs? Etsy only accepts 5 files per listing. Upload your bundle to Google Drive or Dropbox and give buyers a PDF with the link, made with the download instructions PDF maker.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Etsy's file size limit for digital downloads?

Each file can be up to 20 MB, and you can add up to 5 files to a digital listing.

Does zipping reduce the quality of my files?

No. The files are stored in the ZIP exactly as they are — nothing is re-compressed or changed.

What if one file is bigger than 20 MB?

A ZIP can't make a single file smaller. Compress or convert that file, or share it through a cloud download link.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The ZIP files are created in your browser on your own device.
